Horn Works - a community-building bootcamp for your face and musical soul

Picture
Horn Works is a 1/2 day intensive, get-your-face-together, power-charge-the-school-year right horn camp for horn players of all ages. It's a chance to play together, make new friends and connections and find a new creative tribe. Horn Works is ostensibly aimed at High School and Middle School horn players, but is open to horn players of all stages and ages. It's a big tent.

We'll gather on September 8th at 9:30 am at Atholton High School. Once everyone is registered and has their instruments ready to go, we'll launch into breathing exercises, yogic stretches and a fairly extensive technical warm-up. The purpose of this is to get everyone's faces and bodies in gear, especially if they took some time away form the horn over the summer. We'll break for a quick snack and then round out the morning with a workshop on horn repair and maintenance, a chat about practicing and some more technique and chorales to send us off into the world tired, but happy.

Thinking about taking up the horn? Music teacher who wants to learn more about the horn? You can come as an auditor! Like we mentioned before, it's a big tent.
